I moved around quite a bit after high school and worked a ton of different jobs before settling in Ventura County in 1978 - I just celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary and have two boys, ages 24 and 17 and a beautiful grandaughter who just turned 1.
I live a pretty quiet life right now, but in the past when the kids were small we enjoyed camping and hiking. I never went to a high school football game when I was in school, but high school football became our life for four years with our older son and I loved every minute of it. I enjoy taking road trips with my younger son and going to concerts. I am enjoying my granddaughter right now and am able to work from home so I enjoy being here with my husband, who is retired, and our dog.
I try to get to Hanford as often as I can because my mom still lives in the same house on the corner of Terrace and Kensington, right behind the high school, and I always make a stop at Superior for some lemon ice cream and the China Cafe for dinner.
I am a medical transcriptionist and enjoy what I do. We live near the beach so we try to get down there a few times a week for a walk. We love to go fishing at the lakes around here and just bought a kayak so anxious to try that out this summer.
Anyway, that's my life - pretty normal and I like it that way. |
